Belvedere Golf Club – August 2017 – Belvedere Golf Club is the one of the oldest course on PEI (1902) and is very conveniently located in the centre of Charlottetown.
Ryan (my new golf buddy) knew I also hadn’t played there and as we both wanted to continue golfing after playing Glasgow Hills Golf Club in the morning we phoned and booked a tee time.
It was meant to rain and had a little earlier in the day but neither of us are fair-weather golfers so off we went and the sun came out.
The course is quite short so I played from the gold (yellow) tees (5760 yards) and played some really good golf.
I still had a few wayward shots but my driver was back – I had hit ok drives all morning and by the afternoon I was whacking the ball straight down the middle of the fairway with great distance.
My new M2 3w was going well considering this was the first day I have played with it and I must say while I did love my Adams 3w it has now been replaced.
Belvedere is quite flat and while I have heard it called boring, I cannot agree. There are well placed bunkers and water hazards to keep you on your toes and the well established trees give the course the “old country club” feel it boasts.
Ryan was once again outplaying me (he had given me 10 strokes) and we ended up 83 to 94.
I was not quite good enough.
A great day playing 36 holes of golf I had never seen before.
