The Links at Crowbush

The Links at Crowbush June 2015 – I have played at Crowbush twice since I have been in PEI and will be playing another round in the near future.

Crowbush wintered well. My courses, Brudenell and Dundarave, had a very harsh winter and have suffered quite a bit of damage and as they are affiliated with Crowbush, members were able to play Crowbush for free at the beginning of the season.

It was the first golf I played since arriving from Scotland and my first outing was quite ordinary. I did do some great things, had my longest drive to date (175 yards) and parred the 16th. I actually had five golf shots in a row on the 18th so I was happy to finish the round that way.

I played with Barry, Sean and Joe (fellow members at Brudenell) and I shot 125 (I count everything and that includes two air swings) and two weeks later I shot 112 when I played with Cole and Thomas (also Brudenell members). Got to be happy if you improve.

After having a couple of lessons I am starting to get on to balls better and did some great things. I was very happy with my putting and my driving was quite good. Only slightly off the one fairway. My irons are improving but my 3w was not really my friend.

I look forward to having another hit and improving on my last round here.

I played a third round here with Jason Herring and Dale Herring (no relation). Dale is a scratch golfer I met out on the course and played a few rounds with this summer. He joined Jason, who works at Crowbush and I for a round and Twenty Questions with Tiff.

It was very windy however my drives were pretty much on target. Jason told me I was boring always hitting down the fairway. I only missed the one. I shot better than my first round, with a 120 (125 was my first round here) and was doing some great things off the club – just with too many shots around the great.

Lovely to watch the golf from both boys.

I lamented to Dale that I had shot worse than my second round here and only 5 better than my first, he also complained that it was the worst round he has played all season as the conditions made it tricky and told me I should be happy with the 120.

I way happy regardless as I had just played a round on this gorgeous track.
