Mt Broughton Golf & Country Club October 2014 – April 2015 – Hit it straight. Don’t go for distance if you are apt to be directionally challenged as once your ball is in the long rough it usually stays there. I joined this course as it has the best practice facilities in the area and I like to practice as much as I like to play. I believe the long rough (snaky grass you usually leave well enough alone) has made me a more consistent straight hitter. The shorter rough can be tricky to get out of especially the thick clover but again great practice for lighter roughs on other courses. I do love this course and have played there often (when I am in Australia that is).
October 2015 – January 2016 This course is one of my favourites as it is my Australian home track.
I have only played here a handful of times recently and I have played with Frank, Dave and gone out and had some golf time to myself.
I love playing solo. Since I left Australia and golfed in Canada for six months it was great to come back and test myself noting the changes I need to make in club selection for different tees. I had a two club difference with some as I am starting to get on to the ball well.
Now to do it consistently.
I am playing here on January 3 2016 as my last hurrah before I leave the country again.
I will be filming more of the course. I already have a lot of footage but I would like to get more to complete my love letter video for my YouTube channel.
