Chocolate Fudge Squares
I was heading to play a round at Woollahra with Roz and Carol and wanted some extra treats for our round. The ladies were quite partial to my slice so I made one of those and had a look at what I had in the cupboard. I grabbed some mejool dates, raw macadamias, sesame seeds, chia seeds and raw cacao powder.
In the blender – the blender I was using is circa early 1980’s (if only I had my Blendtec) I put 13 mejool dates (that was how many were in a tub), a couple of handfuls of raw macadamias, a couple of handfuls of sesame seeds, a couple of handfuls of chia seeds (I had black ones) and I started with a heaped tablespoon of raw cacao powder.
I gave it a good buzz. After it was kind of like a sticky ball, I ate a little pinch and added some more sesame (I love sesame in bars) and a little more raw cacao powder, gave it another buzz and tasted it again. It was pretty tasty.
I then flattened it out into a small lined tray. I didn’t have enough to quite fill a tray for the thickness I wanted as I after little choc fudge squares. I popped it in the fridge to set then cut it into little squares.
I must say, it is a delicious treat between holes.
Roz and Carol also want the recipe to this one, so here it is ladies.
